Mind map as a tool for information seeking
Topic Search – Mind Map
Lets say you are interested in the topic area of musicians' health and wellbeing. In particular, you are interested in performance anxiety experienced by musicians.
When working on a thesis or any kind of information‑seeking assignment, you can use the mind map technique to help you identify useful search terms:
- Think about words and concepts related to your topic, as well as their synonyms.
- Consider how these words and concepts are connected to one another.
- Try using the words from your mind map in searches, for example in your local library's database, and compare the results with what you find using the same words in Google.
