FMQ is a journal that has been published since 1985. It highlights the emerging trends and phenomena in music. FMQ publishes one article per week on its website ranging from interviews and columns to album and concert reviews, as well as a more extensive thematic package called "Special feature" four times a year. All online publications are freely accessible.
The directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) is a website that hosts a community-curated list of peer-reviewed open access journals. The service was launched in 2003, and it is maintained by Lund University in Sweden. As of spring 2025, the directory includes approximately 21.500 journals. A search using the keyword "music" finds 152 publications, majority of which are in English.

Open Access Books (DOAB) is a discovery service for open access books. DOAB
provides a searchable index to peer-reviewed monographs and edited collections
published under an open access license, with links to the full texts of the
publications at the publisher's website or repository. Researchers can use DOAB
to access freely to read monographs and edited volumes by searching and
browsing the directory.

Internet Archive is a non-profit library of millions of free texts, movies, software, music, websites and more. It provides permanent and free access to historic and notable collections in digital formats. Not only are there more than 2 million text resources available at this site but also video and audio files, rare and freely downloadable software and preserved websites from as far back as 1996. The Internet Archive has received contributions from a wide variety of academic and public libraries, museums, parallel digital archiving projects and willing contributors of art, music and literature.
